If you don’t leave enough space for someone to get in and out of their car then how do you expect them to get into the car? the sunroof? If the space isn’t big enough for your car then park somewhere else. You might spend more time trying to squeeze into a small space than parking in a space which further away which has no cars around it. In the end if walking a little extra is going to kill you then maybe you shouldn’t even go out!
If you are old enough that you remember when we had 1/2 pennies and World War 2 and you are disabled then you need to get a disabled parking badge because the family parking bays are not for the elderly, they are for families who need to open the car door wide open when getting they baby out from the backseat. I constantly see old people parked in the bays and it makes me wonder if they even know what they are for. I recently saw one who was parked in front of the sign. If he couldn’t see the sign then I would like to avoid him on the road, otherwise the next time you might see him might be when he drives into the back of you!
I couldn’t believe it when I was parked at my local Sainsburys and just before I was about to leave, a car pulled into a family parking bay and not only did the driver not have any children in the car, but he went into his trunk and had his own old blue shopping basket. They haven’t used the plastic shopping baskets for a while, so he had been carrying that basket with him for a while.
